Rio Tinto river flows from the mountains of the Sierra Moreno to the Gulf of Cadiz, Huelva, Spain. Rio Tinto intends Red River and coincides with the state of the river is colored red due to high iron levels. This stream is mined for copper, gold and silver since ancient times and continues to this day.
It also has the oldest mines in the world, believed to be a relic of Nabi Sulaiman. Due to mining activity, this river has a high acid content and a habitat for organisms that live only in extreme circumstances.
