Pamukkale in Turkish means castle of cotton, and is also called the white house white surroundings, due to the high concentration of calcite in the water. Sediment deposition of travertine stone terrace produce white, petrified waterfalls and forests, minerals that form in the surrounding landscape.
17 hot springs here are heated by underground volcanic. The area is also a spa treatment for thousands of years, and attracts visitors from all over the world, but the Romans had built the ancient city Hieropolis here.
