Cano Cristales, Colombia

Cano Cristales is a river located in the mountains of Serrania de la Macarena. The area is very remote where there is only way to ride a horse, mule or on foot. The area is filled with waterfalls, rapids and wells where the water is very clear and the surface can be clearly seen.

In the period between the rainy season and dry season occurs between September-November, the river will be changed with filled color. Algae in the river produces a mixture of red, blue, green, black and yellow. The river has no fish because the channel complex and conflicting deviate. The river is also called The River of Five Colours, The Liquid Rainbow and The River That Ran Away From Paradise.
